Emertxe Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 I'm currently composing an Octet using drums, but the tuner I'm using is fairly inefficient. It's basically a bunch of quarter notes to make sure the drums are beating in tune, but it's long, isn't always accurate, and you have to pay attention to make sure it's in tune because it's not obvious if it isn't. Does anyone know a possibly better way to tune a drum?
🚩Blargel Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 It's unfortunate, but I believe that's the only way to tune a drum actually.
Accelerated Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 comin over to see what this octet is wdf
Finalwish Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Have you tried to make it a silent tuner?
Emertxe Posted April 12, 2015 Author Report Posted April 12, 2015 Have you tried to make it a silent tuner? Doesn't work considering the fact that an off tune percussion instrument doesn't work the same way as an off tune normal instrument. Off tune percussion just plays off beat, doesn't play the wrong notes.
🎶Flameberge Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 my bad advice is try 16th notes for the tunner instead of 1/4? should be a bit easier to hear any mistakes.
