Simplified Guide to defeat G21 Talvish

This boss can catch people off guard because of the unique mechanics of the fight. I will share this simplified Guide of handling him. Requirements: 1. Dual Guns (Way of the Gun is not stopped by Talvish's Unique Passive Defenses). Average of better is best. 2. 600+ Str and Int, to deal good dmg. 3. R5+ Way of the Gun, and R3+ Gun Mastery, to deal more damage and have more Way of Gun time. 4. IMPORTANT. Buy 5 Guardian Crystals from the Adventure Seal Trader. (Nao Stones or other means of revival work) 5. Optional: Have 5+ HP Potions, preferably 300 or more. 6. Have Demigod and Wings of Eclipse, with a few ranks. No need to waste Brionac Durability in this battle. 7. IMPORTANT. Have at least 800 HP. Steps: Phase 1 1. Start by Entering Demigod, Wings of Eclipse, and Way of the Gun inmediately, and start hitting the boss. When he does a normal attack, you can either tank it with Eclipse, or avoid it by running to his back. (hard to do, hence why Eclipse is very useful) 2. When they do the 5 Swords Attack, stop all attacks, run below him, and use Shield of Trust to not die instantly. then keep hitting. 3. When they do the "prophecy attack", PANIC. Then run to him and do Windmill, once or twice if you see it not stopping the attack. The reason to Panic is because if it hits you, you are locked from using Shield of Trust, so you WILL die to his next Step 2 attack. NOTE: Celestial Spike is also able to stop this attack, but usually its not fast enough from personal experience. 4. Eventually, the boss will reach 80% HP. after dealing the last attack, run to one of the corners to hide, since the dialogue and cutscene wont stop the boss from killing you unfairly. Phase 2 1. After you get turned into Nascent mode, start hitting him with normal attacks, be sure to hit him with max gauge each time you can. each correct gauge hit will give you a number below you, which is important for Step 2. When the boss does the 5 Swords attack, stop all attacks, run below him, and use Shield of Trust. 3. When they do the "prophecy attack", PANIC. You cant do Windmill on this transformation, so you can try Celestial Spike...but most likely you wont be fast enough. This means, you WILL die in his next Step 2 attack. 4. Whenever he hits you with his Step 3 attack, dont worry. Keep hitting him all you can, and be sure to not die during this step. Your goal is to have as many Stacks as possible before he does his Step 2 attack. 5. When you "feel" he is going to, or when you see he doing his Step 2 attack, and you cant stop it, inmediately use Nova Obliteration, which will hit him for a big amount of damage, depending on the amount of stacks collected through the fight it should deal 8-15% of his HP in one go. (Your normal attacks at max gauge should be dealing around 0.5% each) You will then die. 6. Revive by any of the means you have, then press the Nascent skill from your Skill List, and you will notice... Nova Obliteration recovered from cooldown! This only happens in this fight. 7. Repeat Steps 1-6 until the boss' HP goes below 30%. Normally you should die around 0 times in Phase 1, and around 2 times on Average on Phase 2. Summary: Phase 1. Use Normal Guns if you dont have a particularly strong alternate option. Use Wings of Eclipse to not waste revives on this early phase. Phase 2. Have some revives to use here whenever you fall prey to his Crusader skill-lock, and use them to recover use of Nova Obliteration.
  2. I have seen many strategies, which all differ from each other. Also, most of them are Human (Final Hit), or Giant (Wind Guard+Bash) specific, which is unfair to people of the other races, (specially Elves). Therefore, I will share this simplifed way of doing it. Works for all races. Requrements: 1. Finish G12 to have access to Brionac. 2. Have a few ranks of Wings of Eclipse and a few rebirths under your belt, to be able to use Demigod for a while at least once. (this step is accomplished by the time you have finished Step 1, plus 1-2 weeks of leveling) 3. Have a Average/Above-Average Dual Gun. (Dowra Golden Guns, or other Guns fully upgraded should suffice). (dont forget some Mana Bulelts) 4. Have around 500 Str and Int, to be able to do decent damage with the Guns. 5. Have Rank 5+ Way of the Gun and Rank 3+ Gun Mastery (for more dmg and time in Way of Gun mode) 6. Equip speed enhancing gear. Morrighan's Feather is given in g21 storyline, but any more, the better, (specially for the slow Humans) 7. Recommended: At least 2 Pets that self-revive. nothing else is required! Steps to defeat him: First Phase 1. Start the battle by killing the 4 Clones by other means (Bash works wonders) 2. when the Doppleganger begins trying to summon more clones the first time, go press the switches inmediately. 3. as soon as you pressed the 4th switch, enter Demigod and Wings of Eclipse mode. 4. equip the Brionac and hit the Doppleganger with normal attacks. 15-20 hits should suffice (this will take off 1, maybe 2 dura off your Brionac) 5. by that moment, he will summon clones again. press switches. 6. Repeat Step 4 and Step 5. at that moment, he will have been hit 30-40 times, and the Protection will be mostly done. 7. Equip your Dual Guns, start Way of the Gun, and well...start hitting him. Normal Attacks work too but in W of Gun mode its faster since criticals. 8. Optional: Your Demigod might be running out, if not been gone already, so sometimes the Doppleganger's FlameBurst will annoy. to prevent it, run a few steps to him, then do a Windmill, then keep Gunning him. With this strategy, any character who completed G20 beforehand should be able to bring the boss' HP down to 50% in around 5 minutes. Second Phase. 1. The Doppleganger will get angry and try to cast the OHKO move instead. Dont try to stop it with hitting the switches, just keep hitting him. 2. After around 10 seconds, summon a Pet, any works, but its highly recommended to have self-reviving ones to save time and deal more hits to the boss. 3. Get on the Pet and keep your distance until he summons the Shadow Spirit, and let it hit the Pet. 4. The Pet should die inmediately but the move didnt hit you. Keep attacking. 5. Repeat Steps 1-4 until it dies. With this strategy, the latter 50% HP of the boss should be down in around 3 minutes. NOTES: Giants can replace the Dual Guns with Bash-spam, provided the weapon is strong enough (Sp Upgrade up to Red 3 should work nicely), as long as they are under Wings of Eclipse, or Wind Guard, which works as a "2nd Demigod" to be able to hit nonstop. Humans can replace the Dual Guns with Final Hit, provided the weapon is strong enough (same as Giant). They dont even need Wings most of the time. Summary: 1. Use Brionac to lower the boss Protection. 2. Use then either a weapon with very high attack speed and injury (Dual Guns), or a Race-specific Skill to hit nonstop (Wind Guard, Final Hit) 3. In Phase 1, stop hitting the boss to hit the switches every time. 4. In Phase 2, ignore the switches, and use a Pet to take the Shadow Spirit for you.
