Custom Search not working right

There is a problem when trying to do a custom search. When I click on "Custom" from the "Sort By" drop down list, a pop-up window shows up and gives me options to refine my search. But When you click on "Search", with any, or none, of the options selected, the pop-up window stays and you get the list of the category your in unsorted; or default. This can lead to a person going into infinite if they keep trying this.

Also when you close the pop-up window after doing this and try to do another custom search, you get the same pop-up window from before you closed it when you click on "Custom". This can be avoid currently just by refreshing the page.
