Each contest has a theme that can give you bonus points if your song fits it. In order to enter, you must use a song that you've made, no copypastas. First prize is a steam card, 2m gold and a composition item if you need one. The next contest is scheduled for May 20th with the theme "Baroque"! I am happy to announce that the winners of the 19th Monthly Ornac Music Contest actually was tied between Levont who played Innosense from Tales of Zestiria the X by FLOW as a solo, and Arianette who played Live and Learn from Sonic Adventure 2 by Crush40 in a jam! They walked away with the first prize of 20K NX (shared between them), 2m gold, and the Unknown Song v.2 composition book for Arianette! Second Prize of 1m gold went to Maggs who played Rock and Roll All Night by Kiss in a jam! Third prize of 500k gold went to Fabeola who played Calling from Parasite Eve by Yoko Shimomura as a solo! Participation prize of 100k gold went to Peachy whose entry was played by Selket. Their song was Illusion of White by Hayato (an old school mabi player apparently :3) as a solo. I just wanted to mention if there happens to be bards out there that want to participate in the contest but cannot attend due to Sundays not working…or the time not working with their schedules, you now have an option to submit song scrolls beforehand! Whether you have your friends play for you, or would like the judges to play for you, we’d be happy to do so as long as we are notified of your absence a day before the contest. In this situation, we must be contacted by the composer of the song scrolls, not just friends. However, be sure to tell your friends that YOU are the only one eligible for the prize. Link to comment

First off, participants will now be separated into two categories: jam and solo. We figure it’s better if the often more robust jams compete against other jams and vice versa if possible. We’re also adding a “freeplay” category where you can play any song you want even if you did not compose it! The only thing we ask is that you are able to tell us who the mabi composer is. Unfortunately, freeplayers are not eligible for grand prizes, but still get 20k gold for performing. The judge pool will now be changing somewhat as well. The winner of a contest will now be a judge in the next one so we have a bit more variety! Also, if there is ever a time where a participant wants a critique of their song, or is curious about why their song is placed where it is, don’t hesitate to ask a judge. The winner(s) of the 30th Ornac Music Contest was Calm playing Diango’s Little Helpers (Runescape) by Ian Taylor. The next music contest will be January 19th, 2020 with the bonus theme Battle music! Contest location will be Emain Stage on ch3! The contest will start around 3pmPST and run until 4:30pmPST at the latest. Judge pool will be: Retsamehtmai, Laeryhn, Aliami, Katara, Maggs and Calm.
